A WINTER STORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA TODAY THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT WITH DAMAGING WINDS AND EXTENSIVE RAIN AMOUNTS.
A winter storm will move across Southern California this morning, by this afternoon winds will increase and become unusually strong. This will bring a period of damaging winds to the area…with the strongest winds between 2 PM and Midnight on Friday.
- Wind gusts of 50 to 60 mph are expected from the coast to the IE and across portions of the lower deserts. Wind gusts in the mountains and portions of the high deserts will likely exceed 70 mph. Even a period of high sustained winds of 30 to 40 mph is expected along the coast Friday afternoon into the evening. This will be a high impact wind event. followed by a cold front.
- Be careful and remember its a Friday, slow down and avoid flood and burn areas.
